2023 Referee Merit Awards

In an ongoing effort for GLASRA to recognize the Referees who have worked games for the 2023 Season, below is a list of Nominees who received a $50.00 Official Sports International Gift Certificate. The Finalists received a $100 Official Sports Gift Certificate.

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to making sure the games had referees.

GLASRA Young Referee of the Year – This award is intended to recognize a GLASRA Member (18 or younger) who deserves acknowledgment for their overall contributions/accomplishments as a certified official.

Adult Referee of the Year This award is intended to recognize a GLASRA Member (19 or older) who deserves acknowledgment for their overall contributions/accomplishments as a certified official.

Newcomer of the Year – This award is intended to recognize GLASRA Members who deserve acknowledgment for their contributions/accomplishments as a newly certified referee and/or a 1st year member of GLASRA.

Nominee and Finalist: Zephaniah Turner -Multiple HS games and was able to recruit additional HS referees.

Heavy Lifter of the Year – This award is intended to recognize GLASRA Members who deserve acknowledgment related to their annual workload and/or volume of assignments supported in the Lansing and Jackson areas.

Traveler of the Year – This award is intended to recognize GLASRA Members who deserve acknowledgment related to their consistent support of assignments outside their local community and typically require larger volumes of travel.

Nominee and Finalist: Kirk Pier
Helped in the Greater Lansing Area and Jackson area for HS games.

Ambassador of the Year – This award is intended to recognize GLASRA Members who deserve acknowledgment related to their positive representation/promotion of the GLASRA Community as a player and/or during other non-referee activities.

Finalist: Mia Judd

Nominees:
Mia Judd -Willing to help out for multiple games at all levels and leagues.
Hannah Pollice - Recognition for resilience through difficult situations,
Glenn Rupert - willing to help out in outlying areas for HS.

High Achiever of the Year – This award is intended to recognize those GLASRA Members who deserve acknowledgment related to their selection for higher-level assignments/events (e.g., MHSAA State Final; State Cup Final; USYSA Regionals).

Member of the Year – This award is intended to recognize those GLASRA Members that deserve acknowledgment for their membership history (5+ years) and their consistent representation of the values/mission of GLASRA.
